Helen Ashland (Hyattsville, Maryland) – Ms. Brooks, this site has truly been a blessing for me.  I am currently enduring a process of spiritual growth after losing two grandchildren to Child Abuse, and I am encouraged daily when I read the "One Voice / One Sound, Inc."  I have also recommended the site to other friends and family. It was an aunt who led me to the site.  It is a blessing that I plan to continue to share with others.  Please keep up the good work.

Diana Marie Slaughter - C.J., this is my first visit to your site.  The music is so uplifting and inspiring.  I met you at your book signing at the First Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.   We are all sisters in Christ and we manage to always find one another.  This website is becoming the buzz around Detroit.  Everyone who has read it so far found it fascinating.   Much love to you, and respect.

.

Sister Brenda S. Robinson (Washington, D.C.) - I thank God for you, Sister.  Your ministry and website encourages me to continue with the ministry that God has placed before me.

 .

Jacque Rogers - Beautiful site! It's always gratifying to watch your progress.

.
Darlene Wheeler - C.J., your website looks great! And I see that the haters wasted no time in attacking you. You must be hitting a nerve. Keep speaking and I look forward to your book.

.
Aleta Sullivan - C.J., I will admit I had never heard of you until today.  Having read your story here on your website, and having expressed my surprise that such an upbringing could produce someone as inspirational as yourself, I just wanted to leave my best wishes.

.
Elise Curtis - Ms. Brooks, I have been following your website, and it warms me to see such good actions arising out of the disgusting behavior that you had to endure.  Thank you for every thing you do.

 .

Anna Mae Williams - Congratulations on making a better life for yourself.  Be proud and keep on making a positive difference in the world.

.

Delores McElroy c/o Veterans Administration Hospital (Hazleton, Pennsylvania) - Your book is an amazing read!

.
Beatrice Campbell - You are an inspiration to me,  Ms. Brooks.  I am honored that you choose to speak.  I am so glad you got out of that hateful, abusive environment and are living a healthier, happier life. It takes years and years of hard work for an abuse victim to release all the bad stuff.   Again, thank you so much for putting yourself out there and attempting to make a difference.   I wish you happiness, peace and love always.

.
Rebecca Jordan - I just wanted to say that what you are doing is a wonderful thing.   I support your cause and want to thank you for standing up for what you believe in.   I'm sure you give a lot of other people hope.

.

Mrs. Eloise Simms -Thank  also, you for your honesty, integrity and for speaking out.   I know it took courage, more courage than most of us can imagine.   God bless you, Sister!   You are a true hero!   You are demonstrating the love of humanity that your family should have been doing all along.

.
Sharon Blackwell - When I saw your interview in the Afro American Newspaper,  I started crying.  The reason is two-fold, as an 85 year old woman, I encountered your family on quite a few occasions when you were much younger,  and I was so deeply affected by their hate that it surfaced many negative emotions.  The other reason I cried was that you have been subjected to this hate a good share of your life.  I am in awe of your courage and tenacity.  I'm the oldest of four children, all of us abused by our mother.   Belts, fists, finally kicking us when we curled up in a ball on the floor - she never stopped once she was enraged.  Her rage lasted for days.  You'd walk into a quiet house, however, and that was always the worst. Because then you had to wait for her to snap.

.
Deborah Williams - I am glad that you blossomed out of the excrement that was your mother’s parenting.  I wish I had known you as a child, C.J. -  you write well and I enjoyed your book, though it made me sad for you.  I am humbled by your bravery!  I'm glad you are free now and can tell your story!  I hope you have found the healing you deserve!

.

Jacqui McConnell, R.N. - It takes a brave person to stand up for what they believe.  It takes an even braver person to stand up for their beliefs when they defy everything their family preaches.  Ms. Brooks,  you are one of the BRAVEST people I have ever heard of.  Thank you for freeing your mind, yourself, and others from hatred and intolerance!  I want to say God bless you!

.
Ollie Crosby - I must say that you have given me so much hope.  That you could break away from such a poisonous force and become an educated, decent, and sympathetic woman, gives me so much hope from the future.  You are evidence that extreme psychological and physical abuse can be overcome.  I am certain that it still haunts you, but you are alive and making the world better with your life. Thank you so much.  You are awesome!

.
Missy Rogers - Thank you, Ms. Brooks,  for proving that human beings can rise above fear and hate, and that as a people, we can choose good.  I can't even imagine what it must have been like, being a part of that mess.  No one should have to live like that.
