Here's What You Said

 BEGINNING SEPTEMBER, 2004

.

Floretta Terry  c/o  The U.S Postal Service - I Love what you are doing!

Ann Thomas - God bless "all" of your endeavors for Him. Our children need more and more advocates like you today.  Parents should be the first line of advocates and then everything else should/must come along side parents to build and protect our community.

Gail Smiley - God Bless you, Sis.  I would like to turn your work into a documentary, if you are interested.

 B. King - I have received and read the messages and heard your voice.  I will also listen and do my best to help the situation.  Thank You  for the information.  Keep up the good work.  God Bless.

Pastor Bernadette Hill - I thank God for you.  I too was a victim of Child  (and Sexual)  Abuse - but because of God  I  survived,  and  can look up to the hills from where cometh my help, which I did in my whole young and older life;  for all my help cometh from the lord.  I will keep you and yours in Prayer.  God bless you, and God keep you and grant you peace, with joy.

Pastor Quintin C. Radford - Thanks so much, C.J., for the infomative web site.  I think that your voice indeed needs to not only be heard,  but responded to.    This is an encouraging and much needed ministry  that You have concerning the evil of Child Abuse.  It is devastating to think of those who do in fact abuse children in any form or manner.   Thanks again!  I will be praying more for our children especially in the area of Child Abuse,  that God's hand will stay the enemy and would cover the avenged!!

Apostle Tracy Foreman - Thank you so much for joining my website, I have truly been touched and blessed by the work you are doing.  I am choked up because so many young children are being murdered and neglected all over this world.  Thank God for soldiers such as yourself, called to fight for these innocent babies who have destiny and purpose that the enemy desires to stop at a young age.  God bless you, and I am going to add your link to my site also.  Your site is so beautiful with the spirit excellence.

Denver, Colorado (Anonymous) - Thank you so much for this site.  Thank you also for bringing to light what many people want kept in the dark.  Keep it up and don't let anyone shut you up.

.

L. M. Jordan - Protect our future - Our children.

Pat Myers (New York) - Good Morning C.J.Brooks:  One of the requirements of my career is the mandatory reporting of any suspition of abuse to B.C.W.    There is a saying that it takes a villiage to raise a child,  and Iam in total agreement.   I checked my email this morning and found a message from you.   Very straight forward was your message.   I hope that more people take the time to read your page on "I See Color", and acknowledge what your organization is doing.   I continue to keep my eyes open for signs of abuse.   TOGETHER we can make a difference.   Thanks for sharing.   I will pass this information on and ask people in my circle of friends to please visit your page.

Ravi Pratap Shahi - Hi C.J.;  I received your email this morning.  It was such a pasisonate posting that I could not stop my self from writing back. It is wonderful work that you are doing and trying to get others to be sensitive towards it.    I live in India and do my bit of work in this field too.  Here children of the poor are made to work in small resturants, households,  and many less laborous jobs.  Our group is trying at our level to make the employer understand the sentiments of the child.  Though there is a strict law against it, the basic logic given is that if no one will give these children jobs then they will be starved.  We just tell these people to pay the parents of children more and send these kids to school, which in India is free for poor children up to Grade 10.   They also provide midday meals at school free to these children.  Things are changing fast here also.    Thanks for your efforts and all the best.

McArthur Gordon - Your work for the children is great worthy of commendation. Keep up the good fight. May GOD smile on you,  is my prayer.

Vanessa Rush - C.J. Brooks, I commend you on the work that you are doing to bring awareness to child abuse, and yes child abuse must be stopped at any means necessary,  because a lot of our social illnesses stem from abuse. Abuse does not only mean physical, but mentally as well. A child is a living spiritual being on this planet that deserved to be treated with dignity, respect and love. They are our most precious commodity--they are our future.

Ray Armstead - Peace to you:  I work in a private facility where there are children that have been physically, mentally, and emotionally abused,  and I see the devastating and sometime irreversible effects it has on children who are abused by the people who are suppose to protect and nurture them. The different syndromes that are the after mass of these abuses seems to be endless,  and are definably heart breaking.   I have read some of your site; there is so much information there so I will continue to read it. If there’s anything that I can do let me know - and if it be in my power to do it I definably will; and if it’s not in my power then I will seek the help of that greater power; the one who calls himself "I AM".

Kristel Coleman  (Southern Maryland) - CJ thank you for waking me up!! Your mission is so worthy! H0w can we ignore our Children, especially when so many of us have been abused or know someone who has?   The time is now to get involved!  Every minute that we waste is another child harmed or put in danger!   I love what you are doing for our children. For every life you touch, may God bless you each 1000-fold!

Jayla Watkins - I appreciate the work you are doing and fully support you in your fight.

Donald Smith - Child abuse is wrong. For those who commit such have to know the same. The problem is, by the time it comes to light that a child has fallen victum to an abusive situation, the abuse has been committed.   The attention, and I've said it for years, should be focused on the one, or ones who commit child abuse. Problem, they are not likely to come forward and admit that they do have a problem, they abuse children, they abuse their child, or children. The question still remain, "how do you stop child abuse?"

Christine Lakatos - I truly believe your work is a "calling from God". Child abuse and neglect is a SERIOUS matter that must be fought! I was a child of some mild abuse and neglect and it still affects me as and adult. Thank goodness I found Jesus to help heal me and teach me how to be a descent parent! I was adopted at the age of 3 by my cousins who were ignorant as to how to raise children. We have to have a driver's license to drive but no schooling on "HOW TO TREAT HUMAN LIFE", especially an innocent child. God Bless YOU!

PRAIZE - You do wonderful work,  CJ!  God bless you and your efforts!

Shineaka - Hey C.J. I think it is great what you are doing for children, I also have a spot in my heart for all of them.   Keep doing what you do and God Bless.

Josie - Hey keep up the good fight. Children need someone who is willing able and ready to help and for care for them,  when the people responsible for them are the ones causing them the most harm.

Keoki - I applaud to you! It's sad to know that there are folk out there that want to hurt a child. I love your page.  Be blessed.

Angela Johnson - I visited your website and was very well informed about the problems of child abuse in our country. I commend the effort you have made for this cause, and I will do what I can to educate others in my community.

Joyce - I viewed your website and like it!  What you are doing is a wonderful thing.  I have 4 children and 9 grandchildren,  so yes I understand child abuse.   I have assisted with state foster care programs in the past, and have been a nurse for over 22 years … so I am definitely for prevention of child abuse.

.

K. Carter - I certainly appreciate the work you are doing for abused children. WE so need groups like yours to help protect our nations babies from the horrific things that do happen in this crazy world. I have a 2 yr old and can't imagine hurting him or anybody else doing it. I even feel uncomfortable spanking him...but I know I must sometimes...but anyway thanks so much for all you are doing. It is much appreciated. PEACE!

.

Carol - I  live in Darby, Pennsylvania but my roots are in Philadelphia, Pa .  I work for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the Dept of Public Welfare.  I have a passion to help people become self-sufficient who have been subject to some form of abuse.  I am a survivior of sexual abuse, substance abuse and domestic violence.  Your page hit home for me.  I am currently working and in college seeking to get a degree in Human Service Management.  I am also seeking to volunteer at a facility that help heal abused women and children.   Thank you for doing all that you are doing.  May God continue to bless you and use you to do His will..

Helena Ross - C. J. Brooks and M.E. Holloway - God bless you both.  This is truly a ministry from the heart.  I don't know where you are located, but if you ever need a helping hand, please contact me.  I am fifty-eight years old out of work with great skills that need to be utilized.  I am so thankful for this site and I am going to tell everyone I know about it.  Have a blessed, safe and powerful day in the Lord!

Dr. Onika Brown, D.D. -
Thanks for all you do.  If you have any information that you can forward pertaining to Child Abuse,   I would appreciate it - because I work with children here in South Carolina, and all information would be a help. Thanks once again for all you do.

Pastor Aminata -  Dear Sister and beloved ones - I received an email this morning directing me to your website.  I'm not much of a writer, so please bear with me.   First, I thank God for your faithfulness,  your passion and commitment, for this issue of child abuse is one I believe that just does not get the attention it deserves, especially as it relates to our black and brown children.    Please accept this note as an endorsement from me.   I pray your strength along your journey of being a voice - a powerful voice, a caring voice, a faithful voice, and a compassionate voice in the wilderness.

.

Gerri Fisher - I am truly touched by this website.  I took the time to go through each of the subtitles, and reflect back on how real this endeavor is, and is needed.  I applaud you two ladies for your heroism in bringing such a touchy and sensitive subject to the forefront of the American people.  We need more Ambassadors like you.  I look forward to reading your book Ms. Brooks and in being available to assist you in your cause and effort.  May God continue to shine upon you and your efforts.

Arlether Wilson - Thank you for all that you do to keep our children safe.  Keep up the great work.

Lisa Williams -  I don't know you, but this site speaks to my heart.  It is so touching.  I do love kids.  I have two of my own.  It takes a lot of patience with them.  I have also worked with children in my home and in several Day Care centers.  I have a special heart for all children.

Please keep doing what you do.  There are many "silent" kids screaming for someone like you.  "God Bless You".

Shameka Logan -  I just would like to take the time to show my support for what you're doing.  Our women and Children need to be protected. There is so much abuse to our children today especially. We need to all come together and take a stand for them if not for any other reason.  I would like to extend my love for what you truly are doing. Anything I could do please let me know.

Sundra Raspberry - I pray all your endeavors are blessed this is such a wonderful work you are doing helping the children.  All the Best.

.

Miah Ford - I proudly support One Voice / One Sound.  I humbly appreciate your tireless service and devotion towards Children.  I appreciate your voice.  Keep doing what you do for the Global Community of Children.

.

T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh - Until each of us considers each child ours and precious; until we seek healing from our own childhoods; until we pledge to make life better for each generation that follows ... the struggle continues.  Keep up the good work.  Peace and Blessings.

.

Swazette Whitten, B.A., M.B.A. - Blessings to you and your vision for the children.  I am glad that there is someone strong enough to stand in the gap for the children.    May the Lord God of Heaven and Earth Bless and   increase your boarders.  May you have so much support that you will not have room enough to receive it.

.

Sonia Perdue - Your energy is shining out across the world.  I will certainly make this book one of my must reads. Appreciate the sharing.  Please feel free to add your site to my following sites.  The best to you and all your efforts.

.

Naimah Lynah - There are not enough words to express my support for your cause. These are terrible events that happen to children, mostly children with no voice or anyone to speak up for them. I have a hard time pinpointing where the change came that child abuse became so rampant within our society and especially amongst people of color. Child abuse has always been around, but never at such a heightened level as it is now. You have my support, my prayers and whatever help I can give to your cause.

.

I.J. Brown - As a former child welfare employee, I have witnessed the terrors of child abuse.   Fortunately, I worked in adoptions and had the privilege of finding new homes for African American children who had been either abused or neglected.  I applaud your mission and wish you much success.

.

Mindy Proctor -  I wanted to thank you for starting up an organization that is trying to help abused children. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I would love to try and help children all around the world. It hurts my head to see that this is going on. I want to get involved and help abused children before it gets worse. Thank you.

.

Phe'Nixx Williams - I scrolled your page and I must admit, that when I saw that picture of the baby in the garbage, I cried.   I cried because that once was me.  I was a Disposable Child, too.  But God is good - And like you, I'm still here too.  I applaud you and what you do.

.

Trudi James -  Love it!   Love it ...

.

Vincent Gray - I feel that child abuse is one of the most disgusting acts that can be committed against children.  I have a great amount of experience working with foster children - and prior to working with this population, I was really naive.  I did   not think parents actually committed devious acts of violence against children (extension cords, guns, knives, verbal abuse etc.)  I educate parents all of time and try to break the tradition because it usually runs in the family.  Child abuse can and will affect a child's life in its entirety, unless an immediate intervention occurs.  There is   no perfect parent but there is no excuse for child abuse!

.

Louis Jeffries - God equips each of us to serve and save our world. He prepares us to meet the needs of a dying world. Your experiences have prepared you to do a great work. Though the trials are like being tested by fire, we are made strong for the battle at hand. You have been tested by fire. You have been melted and molded. You have come out as Pure Gold.  Be Encouraged. Be Strengthen. Be Emboldened.  Blessings and Prosperity are yours as you continue to do this Good Work.

.

Derrica (Dee) Wilson c/o Black and Missing, Inc. - I admire what you are doing in the community. It is such a blessing and needed. As a police officer, I had a young girl to report to me that she was being abused by her step-father. Her own mother turned her back on this child. I am proud to say that I put this guy behind bars for quite sometime, with of the assistance of his extensive criminal history. That child can now be a survivor such as yourself. Continue to be blessed!

.

Karlette Karras -  I don't answer to any one when it comes to taking care of and reaching out to help others. I do believe abuse should be addressed more than it is and if we all stand together and trust and believe in the almighty we can make a difference! Be blessed.

.

Ann Thomas -  Praise the Lord for your courage and strength. Continue to be a voice for those who don't yet have the courage.  Because this is such a worthy cause, and important message to get out to our community, I look forward to working together with you. When we have stage plays and other events, I would be more than willing to bring your website and other information like this to the forefront. I look forward to working with you. Bless you sister.

Vernet' G. Clarke -  I’ve read your book, and it was breath taking.   I was a nurse at the old Children’s Hospital, and I saw a lot of suspicious bruises and bone breakage.  I personally had to call the police and Child Protective Services.  I wish that I could have helped you at that time.

People in Authority shun away from cases like that.  I don’t know why but back then, they just put their head in the sand.  It’s not hard to see it.   It appears that the people in authority just didn’t want to get sued, or look like fools.  But our children had to deal with their own personal HELL.  Thank God that you made it, not many did.  Please keep your campaign moving ahead, and don’t let anyone say that you can’t do this, but with God in front of you, he will surely block the negativities.   Good luck with your work, and May God Bless You!

Ms. Janice Lavalais - I just read thru your site for the first time and it really hit home. I have a family member that was abused as a child. I would like to help you spread the word even more, by providing you a page in my online magazine website. This page will link to your site. I "Thank You" for sharing your information with me. Continued success and many blessings always.

Jeane' Bennett - Thank you for inviting me to sign your guestbook.  Your site is really an eye opener.  Very memorable.  Thank you for the insight.

Frankie D. Peebles c/o Darcars  - Continue to do the things you do to help the children of Abuse.

Perlita Spencer Roundtree -  I look at these beautiful precious flowers and cannot imagine that anyone would hurt them.  I work with Pediatrics.  Therefore, I have seen some cases that make my heart ache.  I appreciate you for opening the doors to this.  Some try to hide what is behind the closed doors.  God has given you a ministry.  I thank you for sharing it with our community.

Apostle Beverly Motley -  I thank you for this opportunity to encourage you to continue this worthy cause.  Thank you for addressing this nationwide problem of Child abuse.

Margaret Benjamin - What a wonderful site!   I am so please to have invited to visit.  Keep up the great work.  I will pass it on and I of course will visit again.    I want to tell you that you are now on my list of inspirational women. When I went to the site I heard this music that touched my HEART & SOUL.    C.J what you have accomplished is just more than words can express, I can't begin to tell you the heartfelt feeling I had and still feel since visiting your website.

.

Joseph E.  &  Miriam R. Brown - Your organization is kind of new to me; However, I applaud and support anyone who is working to stop the madness.  The task is great and the mission is painstaking, but it is necessary.

Elaine Hawkins - I just want to thank you for providing grieving families and friends a place to share their grief. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you for providing so many loved ones a chance to keep their loved ones' memories alive forever through words. Also I love the addition of the background music. Keep up the good work.

Moble (Peas in their Pods) - Reading your webpage ... This is a tremendous effort, one that needs the support of the entire community.  I applaud your efforts, and offer my continued support.

Tannis Colson - I am a firm supporter of Little Children / Young Adults who cannot defend themselves.  When I hear of a child being abused by anyone, it makes my heart hurt - especially if I don't know the persons involved.  I have six grands, and dare anyone to hurt them no matter who it is.  I support this cause.

Tekelia Sanders - I'm encouraged by what you are doing.   I hope that you can get this Mission from God accomplished with the help and support of us all.

Apostle Dr. Lee Ann B. Marino -  Be blessed workers of the Kingdom - I am touched and in awe of the wonderful work you are doing to protect children.  It is indeed necessary for those who are able to stand up and speak up for those who cannot do so and to protect where we are able.

With your permission I would like to place a link for your site on my website and if there is anything I can to do assist in this great work I would be happy to stand up alongside of you and do it.  As a formerly abused child who became a battered woman - and now stands free thanks to Christ - I know the power of working with the abused as I have done for a number of years.  Feel free to contact me and do let me know if I might place a link for your work on my website!  Be abundantly blessed!

Pastor Tarra Gilbert - This is a fight of which we all need to be a part.  Every child needs the chance at a childhood! Our work towards the cause is to encourage and support women in becoming whole human beings.  Too many women have been left as single parents; sometimes this presents added stress with too little time and even less money because of lack of child support.  None of which is an excuse to abuse a child, but it lends itself to the problem. Another form of child abuse really should be absentee dads.  I applaud your efforts.

Sally Williams - Thank God for Romans 8:28. Go all the way in Jesus name for He has done marvelous things for you, but you haven't seen anything yet! (Ephesians 3:20).  There are no limits in God!

Arinthia Townes - Thomas - St. Croix:   Words cannot express how I am feeling after viewing this site.  I must say that I never knew of a site like this, and that so many children have been murdered.  I feel for every parent who has lost a child.  May you remain forever strong!

Vernita Pugh -  I'd like to conduct a phone interview with a Representative from your organization.  My radio talk show airs live every Saturday morning.  Please contact me at your convenience.  Your work is crucial.

Ronald Douglas - Our children should be one of our main concerns.  I believe that a child does not have to be "our" child for us to be concerned about.  All children are our children when it comes to caring.  You are doing a tremendous job, and you are one "Beautiful Sister", inside and out.

Jacquelyn R. Brown - I just wanted to tell all of you at One Voice / One Sound  to keep doing what you're doing,  because you have no idea how much you make a difference. You have definitely made a difference in my life.

Pastor Joseph W.  Daniels - Washington, D.C. -  "Father in the Name of Jesus, The Christ, we thank you for being our healer, our guide, our protector and our source of wisdom.  I ask you in the name of Jesus, to protect our chidren from child abuse.  I pray that you would change the hearts and minds of those possesed with evil intentions to harm our innocent children.  And Lord for those who have been hurt, harmed and severely impacted by this terrible act of violence, would you, Jesus, bring deliverance, liberation, and the strength to help hurting people find the pathway to a peaceful and healing place.  We thank you.  We bless you and we glorify your Holy name.  In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen."

Charlee - C.J., I Love your website!

Hip-Hop Nation - Hey C.J.,  I like what you are doing - keep up the good work. Helping our children should be a passion for all but its not.   I hope that maybe in 2009 we can possibly work together,  since we are in the same neck of the woods. Peace and blessings.

K.C. - Hi Ms. C.J., welcome to the family and thank you for your support to fight this terrible disease! We appreciate your compassion  ...  and with your assistance, we can reach many women to make them aware of this very important cause,  and how much they are needed to succeed in this major battle!   Feel free to post comments or discussions as you feel they are necessary! God loves you and we do too! You are awesome!

Mary c/o For Us Music, Inc. (4US) - Good Morning, C.J.Brooks:  I hope you are doing well.  Such a sad topic you are addressing, but certainly a very important one.  Hopefully, bringing these issues to our attention will help us to make a conscientious effort to make a difference.  We have much respect for what you are doing.

Belinda - Keep up the good work!! Our kids are the future. Where would they be without people like you. Be Blessed.

 R. Lee Gordon -  The honor to leave a message in support of your work is equally mine, a s I am familiar with your wonderful work, and applaud your support of a better people and planet.

.

B. Pierce (Houston, Texas)  - I stand and speak for children that can not speak or protect themselves.  It is an honor to do this for any child, as a mother and grandmother that has devoted years to the medical care of children and childcare provider.

.

Felecia Parker - I  currently reside in Portsmouth, Virginia. I am a School-Based Counselor in the Portsmouth Public Schools.  I sincerely believe in building hope in the lives of Men, Women, Boys and Girls, through mentoring, encouragement and most of all, LOVE! God Bless You both.

Beverly Johnson - An oustanding well designed website.  Very enlighting for those who have remained unaware, or those who keep their eyes closed, to what is going on with our childre.n.  We must save our children.  Thank You C.J.!

.

Lorraine Primrose - We as  African Americans, should all stand up and fight against any abuse let it not be against our childrens or woman or men not even the elderly.  We should all learn to love our people and protect them.  I pray to God that people will open their eyes and see that it is wrong to abuse anyone.

.

Leondra -  Sending much love, blessings and praise to everyone.

.

Kechell Jackson - You have a wonderful site here.

.

Sid Skinner - I've never seen a website like this before.  It is very interesting.  Keep up the great work!

Ed Andrews -  The message you left on my page was enough to peak my curiousity and get me to check out your website. WOW!!  I got on there and couldn't get off.  I'm having a hard time believing that stories like "Andre Thomas'" are true. Actually I don't wanna believe it.   You've taken up a very noble cause, but I'm sure I don't need to tell you that.  I have a friend who went through some unimaginable things as a child, so I'm gonna send him the link to your site. I'm sure would really be able to relate.  I didn't see an actual price for the book (but I might have just overlooked it, my mother always told me I was horrible when it comes to looking for things).

.You should entertain the idea of building a squeeze page (possibly add a video) and using it to market your book.   That would really help the kiddos out, right?   If your interested in building one and you need some help just holler at me (no charge of course).  Be safe up there in D.C., and be careful about putting all those awful people on blast .  You guys are truly some of God's true soldiers who walk among us. We need more people like you.  Let me know how much that book is so I can put the money order in the mail. This really puts life into perspective.  Most of the things we think are important, really aren't that big a deal at all.  Good work, and good luck!!  One Love!!

.

Felicia Moseley-Jackson - I just checked out your website. That's a long forgotten topic in my life, but in my family there were victims. Thank you for bring that attention to my life.  Thank you for you empowering message of remembrance of our fallen children.

.

Rhinold Lamar Ponder - This is an important website.  I will take time now to explore it with great anticipation.

.

The Charlotte Crossovers  Basketball Team  (Charlotte, N.C.) - What a beautiful site.

.

S. Shavonne Rowell - God Bless you for all that you do and for what your cause is for. Keep keeping your head to the sky and always, keep doing what you do best.
.

Kim Johnson (North Carolina) - I can’t see how anyone can hurt a child. My stepfather treated me different.  Sometimes he would beat me for no reason at all. Instead of acting like him, I learned not to treat children like him. I didn’t want to continue the cycle. I love children and don’t want to see them hurt.

.

Lorri Jackson (Atlanta, Georgia) -  The work that you are doing is absolutely breath-taking; I am not only impressed, but give thanks and glory to our Lord and Saviour for you coming out of  silence and letting your voice be heard, not only for yourself, but all the children across the nation.  May God continue to use and bless you and my prayers and thoughts will be with you always.

.Angela Fitch - I find it painful and almost unfathomable as to how someone could hurt an adorable little life.  The way their eyes look directly at you when you're reprimanding them, I can't imagine taking it further and actually abusing a child.  Seeing the anguish on their faces should be too much for anyone to handle.  Whenever I hear a story, I think back to my own sexual abuse as a child and I put myself in their position and I feel their pain, and their inability to defend or save themselves.  It brings tears to my eyes and  I pray for them as well as the offender that they are able to recover and live a happy and productive life.

I wish there was a fix.  I don't know if there will ever be one.  At my business we offer free spa and hair services to abused & drug addicted women, it's just my way of giving back even though I don't have much.  Thanks for taking the time to read this, and for doing a random act of kindness.  We need more people like you.

Denise Leavell - Child  Abuse, an unfortunate epidemic in our society is a detriment on a child physically and emotionally.   My heart goes out to the victims that are left too emotional to manage the invisible scars left after the flesh has healed.  My concern is the rehabilitation of victims.  I often get sick in the stomach whenever I hear various cases of child abuse.

I know first hand the effect abuse can have on a child.  I am a survivor of a form of child abuse.  I was raised to be obedient and respectful to adults and he (family friend) took advantage of that.  Today, I will tell anyone that it is the grace of God that saved me from loosing total innocence.  Although I expressed my hurt in other ways, I never told my family until 2006.  My decision to share my experience was only to help a close relative who had just experienced the same violation.  Now my family understands why I’m aware of things others normally overlook.  In reality I spent 30 plus years dealing with those scars.

Adrienne Gilyard - I think that a child should be nutured to grow, to love and be loved. Child abuse takes away the purpose and understanding of what love intends to provide. Child abuse dimishes feelings of trust and scars the heart of its individuals. It leaves feelings of doubt and unworthiness. It robs dreams, gifts and expectations. It instills fears. It makes one doubt their pupose.    Parents are our caregivers and expected to protect what God has blessed them with. When nutured with love, every living thing grows.  Child abuse tugs at the soul and eats away the flesh of the heart. It has no place in our society and all who choose to abuse should be held accountable.

Evelyn Simpson - As an Assistant Principal as well as a former special education teacher, I have seen my share of abuse.  I make it my business to see that all children are treated fairly and have called on outside agencies when deemed necessary. I told my teachers today to pretend that every child is wearing a sign around their neck that says make me feel important and loved because I deserve it and do so!

Tracy West - First off, I would like to say that I love what you are involved in. The children need us to have voices for them. I dont think that we speak enough on this issue in the mainstream media. Our foundation begins as a child. What right does another person have to strip a child of their right to live a happy life? What right does another person have to strip a child of their right to live? Thanks for listening.

Marlon L. Richardson -  God bless you and everything you are doing with this site. You are truly fighting a worthy cause.

Charles Beasley - Keep up the great effort. GOD will bless you for blessing his.

Natalie Wilson - Children are our most precious gifts. As a parent it is important that we not only protect our own but those around us. Children our the future and how we treat them along with what we teach them is the future. Each chlid has a God right to flourish and be nurtured to be the best individual they can be.

Sherrie - As A mother of 4, It is my mission to protect my children and all that I know from the horrors of abuse in any form.  So God Bless you for your efforts of love.

Regina Ladd (Kansas City, Missouri) - I'm a Federal Government employee. Thank You for being a Voice for the Children.

L. Eros - I agree with you about the children wholeheartedly.  I am a survivor - However,  my story is too long to put here.  Much love & respect to you.

Angela -  I am truly touched by your website. You are an inspiration. You are definitely one our Power Players, driven successful and on top of your game. Don't stop doing what you do. I am A friend and a fan of your work!

Jeannie Beard (Augusta, Georgia) -  Thank you for bringing these issues to the forefront. These types of crimes have been plaging our culture since slavery time. I commend you  for having the strength and courage to stand up and speak out. The children are our future and it is time for us to come together to preserve and protect our future.

Shyra Smith - Thank you so much for reaching out to me!

R. Micheal and Family (Virginia) - Thanks for keeping it real and keep doing what you do to keep our children's safety in the spotlight.  You've been added to several of my websites,  and I am doing what I can to pass it on to family and friends.

Shareta Berry - I love your site!

Aziza Gayle - WOW! Is my first reaction. I have read all that you have offered in this very special place. A place of refuge and love for all those who no longer have a physical voice but whose voice is being heard through you. You are a messenger for many and your message is VERY VERY CLEAR. I am So Very Grateful to You and for You.

You are a Mighty Spirit and Mother has truly blessed you with her voice, a voice to speak on her behalf to those who are the perpetrators and those who are choosing to ignore the presence of the perpetrators. I have been and am in the presence of many who know your story and it is always a challenge to hear and feel. But it must be heard and it must be felt so that those who are in the places of power to make the change will have no excuse but to do so.

Every now and then Divine Mother sends us someone to remind us that one person, two people can make a difference in the world. Yes, it takes a village to raise a child, but the village must be diligent about keeping them safe and post guardians all around to ensure that the eye is always alert and the one voice will sound the alarm if and when the time comes for the village to stand up and fight. You are such a person, a true guardian of the children.

I thank you from places in my heart and soul that the English language has no name for. They are Soul connections that connect us all to the one Great Source of All.   I will spread the word about the work you are doing. I will spread the word about this beautiful space that holds much love and light for the children who speak through you and those whose voices  you are working so very diligently to have heard while they are still with us.  Peace and Many Many Blessings.

Felithia L. Ballard - I feel the child abuse epidemic is a sad state of affairs for our people, but it stems from a lack of education on the part of young parents.  In many cases, children are birthing children without a true knowledge of how to be a parent.  I also don't feel that the crimes related to the abuse of "our" children get the publicity and news attention that our counterparts receive.

Robert Brooks (Cleveland Heights Ohio)  - I think that any child abuse is not just disgusting but a violation against life but a slap in the face against God!

Felecia Mosley-Jackson  - I believe we are on the same page.  I will share your site with my family, friends and associates.  God Bless,  My Sistah.

Beverly Hairston - I think what you doing here at this site is a really good thing.  Keep the good work up,  as there are so many kids out there that need help.

Patricia McCoy -  I am still in the process of looking over your website.  You have such a wealth of information which is so important, that I don't want to rush through it.  Thank you for the invite, and I will definitely pass it on.

Sheila Rowell - I feel honored to be afforded this opportunity of signing this guestbook for the content and purpose of this site is something near and dear to my heart; the soul of children that endure many moments of unloving caregivers and other unstable individuals, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual abuse, and may or may not recover from the wounds inflicted by sick souls.

I pray that each individual in our society find a way to help in the healing process of these young jewels, and for those babies that are untouched, so far, I  pray that they remain untouched, but loved and cared for in a manner that allows them to flourish and blossom for ever more, throughout the course of their lives.

Camille Burrell - It is really sad to hear what's happening to children. Like they are being preyed upon. They can't defend themselves. It really hurts my heart to hear countless stories of abuse. I say a prayer everyday and night for my son that the Lord put protects him from all harm and danger. I will also pray for other children that He watches over them and protect them too.

Cherra Lee - Thanks for this invitation to this great awareness website for the Precious Babies and Children.  If I can assist you with anything with your organization,  please do not hesitate to ask. Continued Success, Peace & Blessings!

Kathy Dowdy - Child abuse is the most tragic and life altering event to occur in one's life. Unfortunately for generations this sickness has infected our communities and has been a silent killer. It is past time that we stop the sickness from growing and infecting our youth. We as mothers and fathers should do our best to heal our hidden wounds that we never spoke about in order to insure that the illness stops with us.

Michelle Franklin (Compton California) - Wanted to add my name to this list of concerned adults for our children.  Black America Stand Up!!!!

Doretta Jackson - This site has a great deal of information. Thank you for sharing your story and the stories of the children that we cannot hear. Awareness is need and should be spread to as many people as possible. Websites like this are needed. I cried as I read the stories of all the abused and murdered children. Please keep up the good work.

Venus Brooks (Varnville, South Carolina)  - This Website is awsome.  Much Love.

Angela & Robert Michael Newsome  (Leesburg, Virginia) - I do not have child abuse in my past;  however, I do know family members and friends that were not so fortunate.  Being a "voice" is probably the best gift anyone can provide, however with the Nation’s economic collapse, many families are now stressed beyond their ability to cope.  In times like this, we need to be more aware due to a possible increase in children’s, abuse, and neglect.

C.J. you are considered to be a "Hero" and your strength after being a victim of child abuse is inspirational and uplifting.  I will continue to spread your message as far across the nation as I can.  You are an "Angel" spreading your wings above many children in need of a voice, an ear and helping hand.  Keep doing what you do and one by one you will change the lives of those who are listening in more ways than one,

The thought of children being abused brings "anger" from within as my first reaction.  Sorry I could not be there to rescue helpless children suffering at the hands of those full of evil or bad parenting skills.  I despise it, I have NO respect  or tolerance for abusers and I can only hope more survivors like C.J. Brooks will come forward, tell their stories and stand up for the children that can't stand up for themselves.  Sincere thoughts & perspectives and Much Respect.

Angela Showers (Mississippi/Virginia ) - As I sat here and viewed this site, my mind drifted back to my childhood nightmares of being sexually abused by neighbors, babysitter, and also being raped and physically abused by people I thought would never hurt me. As I drift to my early adulthood I saw first hand how being silent and holding on to hate and un-forgiveness would never allow me to leave my past behind. My life spiraled as I begin to abuse myself by trying to cover the pain inside.

Jewel Lynnette Mack - This is a beautiful Website.   This subject is one that needs to be addressed more. My daughter was a victim of child molestation. It is devastating. It has  had a lasting effect on her.

Carla Saunders - Keep Pushing Sista ...

Tawitcha Mullen - You have my full support.

Darrell Johnson (Baltimore, Maryland) - May God continue to bless your work and your vision.  Time has not allowed me to view the full contents of your site but, from what I see thus far; I'm sure that your work and your mission will continue to benifit many.  Peace and Blessings.

Bethany Burney (Nashville, TN)  - I love your website, I love what you are doing.

Tasheba Toles - Thanks for the plethora of information!! I love what you are doing to save our nubian sistas and brothers!  Continue to keep up the work that you are doing and I will in deed let others know of your site.   Be Blessed Continually.  Knowledge Is Power.

Francine Williams (Pembroke Pines, FL)  -  I commend you for reaching out to help the abuse children of this world.  Children are our future and we should be there to help them any way we can.  I hope your site plays a major part in reaching out around the world to deliver these precious children from abuse.

A Bigga Man - Child abuse is something that never should happen because a child doesn't deserve physical or any kind of abuse. Some abuse kids with the very words out of there mouths and don't realize that words cut like a two edge sword. While others neglect the child instead of being there to guide them into adult-hood. Some parents were grew up tramatized and felt the way they were raised is normal, which in some cases, handicapped their parenting skills. Some kids are brutally beaten and in some cases scarred for the rest of their lives.

I believe as a parent, sister, brother, neighbor, or any one we need to do better to protect the kids. It burns my soul too think about someone hurting my son or daughter(even the elderly.  I've been through some things as a child myself. I know can't let my child or no other child walk in the shoes I been in. They don't deserve it. I'm speaking from the heart.

Anonymous - What a Wonderful Website!!!   Child Abuse is the "best kept secret".  It is still "tabu" to talk about the subject in my family.  I did break the chain about 8 years ago when my mentally challenged aunt informed me that my alcoholic uncle (her brother) was groping her when they were alone.  This had been going on for a year but per my aunt,   my uncle said no one would belive her because she is crazy.  I reported my uncle even though my mother and other family members begged me not to turn in my uncle. My uncle did 1 year of jail time - and still to this day,  I have family members who are angry with me but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I think the majority of child abuse happens because there are so many parents out there who have children for the wrong reasons and the children are the ones who suffer.  If more young ladies realize that children are a gift from God and they are priority,  we might have healthier productive adults.

Anonymous - Greetings, Beloved:  I stopped bringing up the subject of child abuse many years ago among co-workers because everybody had a story - and I mean everybody! In seconds we went from "You mean I'm not the only one?" to "Oh my goodness, please stop - I don't want to hear anymore!" It was fiercely overwhelming and incredibly sad to know what can happend in an instant, a moment or a season.

What I went through at the tender age of four could have easily traumatized me, however it has made me a natural warrior to protect my children and ANY child who may be in harm's way. What's even worse than the adult pedophiles is the fact that many of the people that tried to make moves on my children were little people - children!!! These children were acting out what they saw or what was possibly was done to them. They were the children at summer camp and the children in the neighborhood.

One little boy told my son to let him fondle him and rub up against him for a popsicle. Within seconds my Mama Radar had kicked in so I went outside and immediately demanded the child to admit what he was doing. He started shouting "I'm not gay, I'm not gay!" That tells me that a male had been touching him. We went to the house and I tried to talk with his mom about what had happened. She opened the door partially and then cut me off mid-sentence. She told her son to come inside and she immediately started spanking him and she slammed the door. I stood on the grass with my mouth open...realizing that this was a hopeless cause and feeling extremely helpless. We learned that the child's Father was incarcerated and later a Police Officer told me that they were watching that same house (it was a crack house).

Child abuse is as disgusting to me as maggots developing in a trash can. I am an advocate for children and I spend my free time coaching and mentoring children to be empowered and to be confident and to love themselves. I also tell them that they can always call me if they need help and to make sure no one touches them, says anything inappropriate or makes them feel uncomfortable.  We all have to be straight warriors for our children. They are our precious jewels and no one has the right to steal their innocence because of their warped desires.

Sometimes a child just needs an outlet, to help them make it until they are old enough to leave the home (as many cases are not reported because a family member is the abuser). I am starting a foundation that will go a step further than a community center. It will also serve as an emergency shelter to provide 24 hour care for any child in need of food, clothing, shelter and most importantly - someone who cares who want hurt them.  We should all do what we can to help a child, if for no other reason than the fact that we used to be one.
